Where crystalline technology becomes waterproof concrete

Drykos Research and Development is entirely dedicated to designing crystalline systems for waterproofing, protecting, and restoring concrete structures. The goal is to extend the service life of works, reduce maintenance costs, and ensure high performance even in the most critical conditions, with maximum respect for the environment and international sustainability standards (LEED, SDG).

R&D Mission

The mission of the Drykos R&D department is to develop high-durability waterproofing solutions for

New concrete constructions

monolithic water-tight structures, resistant to hydrostatic pressure and aggressive agents.

Maintenance and restoration interventions

systems dedicated to the remediation of damaged concrete and the protection of existing works.

Every product is designed to

Reduce the carbon footprint throughout the entire life cycle of the work

Integrate waterproofing, durability, and sustainability into a single crystalline system

Guarantee the self-sealing capacity of the concrete, even over time, in the presence of water

Our research and development process

From laboratory experimentation to site validation
Drykos Research & Development activity is based on a rigorous method that combines scientific analysis, durability testing, and field monitoring.

Laboratory tests on different types of cement and curing conditions to verify how the active crystalline components react within the pores and capillaries of the concrete, even in the presence of hydrostatic pressure and wetting/drying cycles (self-healing).

Specific resistance tests for:

  • freeze-thaw cycles;

  • chlorides (marine environment, de-icing salts);

  • CO₂ and carbonation phenomena;

  • aggressive chemical agents typical of industrial plants and hydraulic works.

Development of tailored formulations and dosages, calibrated to:

  • type of cement and available aggregates;

  • exposure class and performance requirements of the project;

  • impermeability specifications and resistance to hydrostatic loads.

Partnerships with universities, independent laboratories, and international research centers to validate the performance of Drykos systems and continuously introduce new technological solutions.

This approach allows for superior performance compared to traditional membrane systems (bituminous or PVC), simplifying construction phases and increasing the overall durability of the work.

DRYKOS

Quality, control, and customization

From formulation to installation

Drykos manages the entire technological chain, from product formulation to on-site support:

Full traceability of raw materials and production batches.

Advanced chemical-physical testing to verify compatibility with different cements, environmental conditions, and application methods.

Technical assistance during the design phase and on-site, to define the most suitable crystalline system and supervise critical application phases.

System customization based on: intended use of the work; environmental exposure class; and regulatory and certification constraints.

Concrete treated with Drykos crystalline technology maintains its recyclability, contributing to reducing the overall environmental impact and improving the sustainability index of the project.

A technological partner for designers and contractors

Thanks to continuous and structured Research & Development activity, Drykos offers the market integrated crystalline waterproofing systems capable of combining technological innovation, long-term high performance, and measurable environmental sustainability.

For designers, contractors, and infrastructure managers, Drykos is a technical partner providing expertise, products, and on-site support to achieve waterproof, self-healing, and Made to Last concrete.
