Sealflex N

High-performance, single-component, elastic polyurethane adhesive sealant

Drykos® Sealflex-N is a single-component, moisture-curing polyurethane adhesive sealant with a medium/high elastic modulus, designed for elastic bonding and sealing applications in civil, industrial, and infrastructural sectors. The product cures by reacting with atmospheric moisture to form a permanently elastic material, characterized by high adhesion to major construction materials, excellent mechanical strength, and long-term durability.
Thanks to its high thixotropy and ability to compensate for substrate irregularities, it allows for flexible structural bonding and waterproof sealing, while ensuring resistance to weathering, UV rays, and aging.

Main features
  • High adhesion to major construction materials
  • Fast curing through reaction with moisture
  • Permanently elastic behavior
  • High tensile and tear strength
  • Ability to absorb movements (~ 25%)
  • High thixotropy (non-sag on vertical surfaces)
  • Excellent resistance to aging, UV, and weathering
  • Good chemical and environmental resistance
  • Reduction of vibrations and stresses
  • Paintable once fully cured
Fields of application
  • Sealing of expansion and construction joints
  • Bonding of prefabricated elements, thresholds, windowsills, and panels
  • Sealing between structural and cladding elements
  • Joints on flooring, terraces, and roofs
  • Applications on concrete, stone, ceramics, wood, metal, and brick
  • Sheet metal work, roofing, and building finishes
  • Fixing of waterstops and hydro-expansive profiles
Packaging
300 ml cartridge - Box of 12 cartridges

Appearance

Thixotropic paste.

Storage

12 months from production date.

Storage conditions

Store correctly in the original, sealed, and intact packaging, protected from moisture and direct sunlight, at temperatures between +5°C and +35°C.

Theoretical consumption

Actual consumption varies depending on joint geometry, substrate roughness, and application methods.

Yield

For 300 ml cartridge: Ø 5 mm → ~ 15 linear m; Ø 6 mm → ~ 10–11 linear m; Ø 8 mm → ~ 6 linear m; Ø 10 mm → ~ 3.5–4 linear m

Application temperatures (substrate and environment)

Minimum +5°C | Maximum +40°C

Substrate preparation

Substrates must be sound, cohesive, clean, and dry, free of dust, grease, oils, cement laitance, or other contaminants that could compromise adhesion. For joints, it is recommended to prepare a suitable joint backing made of compressible material (e.g., expanded polyethylene) to control the depth and geometry of the seal.
On particularly absorbent or critical substrates, the use of specific primers is recommended.
Do not apply on non-adherent substrates such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), PTFE, plasticized PVC, or bituminous materials, nor in conditions of permanent immersion in water.

Product preparation

Drykos® Sealflex-N is ready to use and does not require mixing. Before application, insert the cartridge or sausage into the appropriate caulking gun and cut the nozzle according to the desired bead section. For proper workability, it is recommended to use the product at room temperature.

Application

Apply Drykos® Sealflex-N using a manual or pneumatic gun, extruding the material continuously into the joint or onto the surfaces to be bonded. For sealing, apply the product in a continuous bead and then smooth the surface before skin formation to ensure proper adhesion to the joint edges and a uniform finish.
For bonding, apply the product in beads or dots and join the elements, applying adequate pressure to achieve uniform distribution of the material.
The product has a skin formation time of approximately 45–60 minutes and progressive curing depending on environmental conditions (~ 3–4 mm/24 h).

Cleaning of tools

Tools used for application must be cleaned immediately after use with suitable solvents (e.g., acetone or nitro thinner). Uncured product can be easily removed, while once cured, it can only be removed mechanically. Prompt cleaning is recommended to prevent the material from hardening on the tools.

Other indications
  • Apply to clean, dry substrates free of contaminants.
  • Do not use on non-adherent materials (PE, PP, PTFE, plasticized PVC, bitumen).
  • Not suitable for continuous immersion in water.
  • Verify adhesion and compatibility on special substrates beforehand.
  • Do not apply at temperatures below +5°C or above +40°C.
  • Avoid application in the presence of condensation or damp substrates.
  • Respect correct joint geometry (depth ~ half the width).
