Rondo

Elastomeric sealing collar for waterproof sealing of pipe penetrations in concrete

Drykos® Rondo is a preformed elastomeric sealing collar, manufactured from a high-elasticity TPE compound, designed for the permanent and waterproof sealing of pipe penetrations in concrete structures such as plastic, steel, fiber cement, stoneware, and corrugated pipes.
The system consists of a flexible element with a multi-lip profile, supplied complete with stainless steel clamping bands, which ensure perfect adhesion to the pipe and prevent infiltration along the pipe-concrete interface. Installed directly on the pipe before casting, Drykos® Rondo is embedded in the concrete, creating a continuous physical barrier against water penetration, even in the presence of hydrostatic pressure and gas. Thanks to its high elasticity and deformation capacity, the system is able to absorb movements and dimensional tolerances, ensuring a long-lasting seal over time.

Substrate preparation

The pipe must be clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, oils, or other contaminants that could compromise the adhesion of the collar. Before installation, it is necessary to verify the dimensional compatibility between the external diameter of the pipe and the clamping range of the collar. In case of particularly cold or rigid surfaces, it is recommended to immerse the collar in lukewarm water for a few minutes to increase its flexibility and facilitate installation.

Application

Drykos® Rondo must be installed on the pipe before installation and concrete casting. The collar is inserted onto the end of the pipe and slid to the intended position, then centered with respect to the thickness of the structural element (wall or slab), to ensure uniform distribution of the sealing zone. Subsequently, the stainless steel bands must be tightened using suitable tools to ensure stable adhesion to the pipe, preventing displacement during casting operations. During concrete casting, it is essential to ensure proper compaction of the material around the collar, avoiding the formation of voids or honeycombing that could compromise the system’s seal.
A minimum concrete cover of 5 cm and a minimum distance from reinforcement or other elements of at least 3 cm must be ensured.
Once embedded in the concrete, the system creates a continuous barrier that permanently prevents water penetration along the external surface of the pipe.

Other indications
  • Use only collars sized according to the pipe diameter
  • Do not install on dirty or contaminated pipes
  • Ensure proper tightening of the bands
  • Avoid displacement during casting
  • Ensure adequate concrete compaction
  • Respect concrete cover and minimum distances
