Jointseal T
Single-component hydro-expansive polyurethane sealant suitable for use as a waterstop for waterproofing joints and construction details

Drykos® Jointseal T is a single-component hydro-expansive polyurethane sealant in extrudable thixotropic paste form, designed for hermetic sealing of joints, discontinuities, and construction details in concrete structures. The product cures through reaction with ambient moisture or moisture present in the substrate, forming an elastic and adhesive sealant that, upon contact with water, activates a controlled expansion process capable of ensuring hydraulic sealing even under pressure.
Drykos® Jointseal T maintains its elastic properties over time and, under wet-dry cycling conditions, is capable of repeatedly expanding and contracting without losing sealing effectiveness.
Thanks to its high adhesion to multiple substrates and ease of application using a gun, it represents an ideal solution for complex or difficult-to-access applications where the use of traditional waterstops proves challenging.

Application info
Substrate preparation
Application surfaces must be clean, sound, and free from dust, grease, oils, loose particles, or contaminants that may compromise sealant adhesion. In the presence of particularly smooth or release agent-treated substrates, mechanical preparation by abrasion or sandblasting is necessary, followed by thorough removal of residual dust. The product can be applied even on slightly damp surfaces, provided there is no free water on the surface.
Product preparation
Drykos® Jointseal T is supplied as a ready-to-use single-component product and requires no mixing or addition of components. Before application, it is recommended to verify cartridge integrity and properly prepare the extrusion nozzle, cutting it according to the desired bead cross-section, generally not less than 8 mm, to ensure adequate sealing and hydro-expansive capacity.
To facilitate extrusion, especially in low-temperature conditions, it is advisable to bring the product to room temperature before use. The product must be applied directly using a dispensing gun, ensuring continuous and regular bead extrusion.
Application
Drykos® Jointseal T is applied by extrusion with a standard cartridge gun, placing a continuous bead along the joint or area to be sealed. It is essential to ensure continuous contact between the product and the substrate, applying a sufficient quantity of material to compensate for any irregularities and completely fill the cavities to be sealed.
To achieve effective sealing, the product must always be applied under confined conditions, providing coverage of at least 5 cm with thixotropic mortars such as Drykos® Drymortar Tix, Drykos® Renov Tix or flowable types such as Drykos® Dryfill, Drykos® Renov Col. The absence of confinement may compromise system effectiveness due to free expansion of the material.
In the case of construction joints, it is recommended to allow the product to cure before subsequent concrete placement and to protect it from washout or direct contact with water before complete curing.
Cleaning of tools
Tools used for application must be cleaned immediately after use with suitable solvents, such as nitro thinner or solvents compatible with polyurethane products. Uncured product can be removed with cloths or absorbent paper, while once cured it can only be removed mechanically.
It is recommended to avoid material curing inside application equipment, ensuring prompt cleaning at the end of operations.
Other indications
- The product must be applied exclusively under confined expansion conditions.
- Do not use as an unconfined surface sealant (silicone type).
- Avoid application in the presence of free water or washout conditions.
- Protect the product before complete curing.
- Verify adhesion on special substrates in advance through preliminary testing.
