Epomatrix
Two-component thixotropic epoxy adhesive for structural bonding and waterproofing systems

Drykos® Epomatrix is a structural two-component epoxy adhesive with a thixotropic, spreadable consistency, designed for bonding, fixing, and reconstruction operations on building substrates. Once hardened, the product develops high mechanical and adhesive performance, making it suitable for both structural applications and waterproofing and sealing interventions.
Thanks to its excellent adhesion to multiple substrates, including low-porosity materials and plastic surfaces, Drykos® Epomatrix represents the ideal solution for bonding waterproofing strips from the Drykos® range, particularly Drykos® Flexstrip 250, with which it creates continuous and durable watertight systems.

Application info
Substrate preparation
Substrates must be solid, clean, dry, and free of dust, oils, grease, loose parts, or contaminants that could compromise adhesion. Concrete surfaces must be adequately prepared by scarifying, milling, or shot blasting, followed by thorough dust removal. Metal elements must be prepared by sandblasting until a clean surface free of oxidation is obtained. Do not apply on damp or wet substrates or in the presence of free water.
Product preparation
Drykos® Epomatrix is a two-component product that must be prepared by thoroughly mixing component A with component B in the specified catalysis ratio (1:1 by weight). Mixing must be performed using a low-speed mechanical stirrer or manually until a homogeneous, uniform-colored mixture free of lumps is obtained.
The product must be used within the workability time (pot life); avoid preparing quantities greater than those applicable in the available time.
Application
Drykos® Epomatrix must be applied to adequately prepared substrates using a metal spatula or trowel, ensuring a uniform and continuous distribution of the product on the surfaces to be bonded. After mixing the two components, the product must be applied within the workability time (pot life), avoiding interruptions or restarts that could compromise the continuity of the adhesive system. The application thickness must be sufficient to ensure complete contact between the surfaces and to compensate for any irregularities in the substrate.
In the case of structural bonding (béton plaqué), the product must be applied to both surfaces to be joined, subsequently exerting uniform pressure until complete adhesion is achieved, avoiding the formation of voids or discontinuities.
For applications in joint waterproofing systems with Drykos® Flexstrip 250, Drykos® Epomatrix must be spread on the sides of the joint with an adequate and constant thickness (indicatively not less than 2 mm). The strip must be positioned on the fresh resin and pressed uniformly until complete contact with the substrate is achieved and the product emerges through the lateral perforations, a sign of correct adhesion. Subsequently, an additional layer of resin must be applied to the edges of the strip to protect it from mechanical stress and ensure the continuity and monolithicity of the waterproofing system.
Mechanical and adhesive performance develops progressively over time, reaching significant values after the first 24 hours and completing after approximately 7 days at room temperature. During the hardening phase, the system must be protected from water, rain, and contaminants.
