Drytop
Highly elastic silicone waterproofing membrane, resistant to standing water, for the protection and waterproofing of multiple substrates

Drykos® Drytop is a continuous, highly elastic silicone waterproofing membrane designed for the creation of highly flexible and durable waterproofing systems. After application, the product forms a continuous elastic membrane capable of effectively bridging cracks and joints, ensuring water tightness even in the presence of substrate movement.
Characterized by high solar reflectance, Drykos® Drytop contributes to reducing thermal absorption of exposed surfaces. The system provides excellent resistance to weathering, abrasion, and foot traffic, maintaining its elastic and protective performance over time.
Drykos® Drytop is applicable as a waterproofing and protective coating on a wide range of properly prepared substrates, including concrete, screeds, tiled surfaces, natural stone, old bituminous membranes, and metal roofing. It is particularly suitable for waterproofing roofs, even in the presence of standing water.

Substrate preparation
Surfaces must be carefully prepared to ensure proper adhesion of the coating and durability of the waterproofing system. The substrate must be clean, dry, sound, and free of any contaminants that could interfere with product anchorage.
It is necessary to completely remove dust, dirt, loose paint, processing residues, cement laitance, oils, greases, release agents, non-adherent rust, and old sealants. Preparation can be performed by high-pressure washing with suitable detergents, followed by thorough rinsing and complete drying of the surface before product application. Particular attention must be paid to eliminating all non-adherent or friable elements, in order to obtain a continuous substrate suitable for creating a high-performance and durable waterproof membrane.
Product preparation
Drykos® Drytop is a ready-to-use product and must not be diluted. Before application it is necessary to mix the product thoroughly using a low-speed mechanical agitator (approximately 300–400 rpm) for a minimum of 3 minutes, in order to obtain a homogeneous and uniform consistency, avoiding air entrapment in the mass. During application operations, particularly in conditions of high temperature or humidity, it is recommended to maintain the product under slow agitation to prevent surface skinning phenomena inside the container.
Application
Application of Drykos® Drytop can be performed by airless spray (recommended method to ensure uniformity and aesthetic finish), roller, brush, or squeegee, depending on substrate characteristics and site conditions. The product must be applied on surfaces with temperatures between +5°C and +60°C, verifying that the substrate temperature is at least 3°C above the dew point, in order to avoid condensation phenomena that could compromise adhesion. The coating must be applied with a thickness sufficient to ensure a continuous and waterproof membrane, generally equal to approximately 500 microns of dry film thickness (DFT). Depending on the application method and substrate nature, it may be necessary to apply the product in multiple coats to achieve the required thickness. On smooth or previously coated substrates, preliminary adhesion testing is recommended.
Cleaning of tools
If cleaning of equipment is necessary, use suitable solvents compatible with silicone products. The use of thinners is not recommended.
Other indications
- Do not apply on wet, frozen surfaces or in the presence of condensation.
- Do not use on bituminous shingle roofs or in applications in contact with potable water.
- In case of applications on smooth substrates or existing coatings, verify adhesion beforehand through preliminary testing.
- Avoid prolonged work interruptions with open containers to prevent the onset of surface crosslinking of the product.
- Treated surfaces may be slippery: exercise particular caution during application and maintenance operations.
