PTB V PVC Joint
PVC waterstop for construction and expansion joints with central V-bulb

Drykos® PTB V PVC Joint is a high-quality preformed PVC waterstop, manufactured by extrusion from suitably plasticized thermoplastic vinyl resins, designed for waterproofing joints in concrete structures.
The profile features a central V-shaped bulb, which allows it to absorb differential movements and deformations, making it suitable for construction joints as well as expansion and controlled cracking joints.
The lateral fins ensure effective anchoring to the concrete, while the two integrated seats allow for the insertion of hydrophilic strips from the Drykos® Jointseal Tape line, creating a high-security combined sealing system.
The material exhibits high resistance to aggressive chemical agents, groundwater, acid-alkaline solutions, and weathering, maintaining its mechanical and elastic characteristics over time even at low temperatures.
Thanks to its high flexibility and durability, Drykos® PTB V PVC Joint is particularly suitable for applications in civil, industrial, and infrastructural works.

Application info
Application
Drykos® PTB V PVC Joint is designed for internal installation within the concrete pour, with the profile inserted between two successive pours or at structural joints. Positioning must be carried out so that the central bulb is correctly placed in the joint area—specifically, between two distinct pours for construction joints and along the movement line for expansion joints.
The part of the profile intended to be embedded in the concrete must be firmly fixed to the reinforcement using specific metal clips or wire ties to prevent displacement during the pouring and vibration phases of the concrete.
It is essential to ensure correct alignment of the profile and adequate concrete cover on both sides to guarantee the full effectiveness of the waterproofing system.
Joints between different lengths of waterstop must be made by heat welding, using appropriate tools and accessories, to ensure the hydraulic continuity of the system.
To further increase the security level of the seal, the system can be integrated with hydrophilic strips from the Drykos® Jointseal Tape line housed in the specific seats of the profile, creating a double barrier against infiltration.

Other indications
- The product must be installed exclusively by qualified personnel and according to good practice for PVC waterstop installation.
- Ensure the correct positioning of the central bulb at the joint, avoiding misalignments that could compromise the hydraulic seal.
- The profile must be adequately fixed to the reinforcement to prevent displacement during the pouring and vibration phases of the concrete.
- Ensure sufficient concrete cover on both sides of the waterstop, according to project specifications.
- Joints between profiles must be performed by heat welding, using suitable equipment, to ensure the continuity of the system.
- Avoid damaging the profile during handling and installation (cuts, excessive bending, crushing).
- Do not use the product in the presence of surface contaminants or conditions that could compromise adhesion and anchoring to the concrete.
- In the presence of particularly aggressive chemical agents or specific operating conditions, verify the suitability of the material in advance.
