Dryfibers 540

Stranded monofilament polyolefin macro-fibers, structural for industrial floors

Drykos® Dryfibers 540 is a high-performance stranded polyolefin structural macro-fiber designed for the widespread three-dimensional reinforcement of cementitious conglomerates. The product is specifically developed for the creation of continuous concrete surfaces, with particular reference to “exposed” applications where high mechanical performance and effective cracking control are required.
Due to its dimensional characteristics, consistency, and surface finish, Drykos® Dryfibers 540 is particularly suitable for industrial concrete flooring and precast applications.
Subject to sizing and approval by the structural designer, the product can also be used as an alternative to traditional steel reinforcement, contributing to the simplification of laying operations and the rationalization of structural reinforcement.

Fibers for concrete - Polymer fibers
Main features
  • Enables widespread three-dimensional structural reinforcement of concrete
  • Improves the mechanical behavior of the conglomerate, particularly in tension and bending
  • Promotes cracking control and uniform stress distribution
  • Improves post-cracking behavior and energy absorption capacity
  • Reduces the risk of localized cracking and failure, even at corners and critical areas
  • Suitable for “exposed” surfaces, thanks to a finish designed to limit aesthetic impact
  • Can allow for the reduction or replacement of traditional steel reinforcement, subject to structural verification
  • Improves the overall durability of concrete floors and manufactured products
Fields of application
  • Industrial concrete flooring
  • Continuous concrete surfaces, including “exposed” finishes
  • Precasting of concrete elements
  • Widespread structural reinforcement of cementitious conglomerates
  • Cast-in-place for civil and industrial applications
  • Concrete foundation mats and slabs

Storage

The product has no storage limitations if correctly stored.

Storage conditions

Store correctly in the original, sealed, intact packaging, protected from moisture, frost, and direct sunlight, at temperatures between +5°C and +35°C.

Theoretical consumption

Indicatively, average consumption ranges between 1 and 2 kg per m³ of concrete, unless otherwise indicated by the structural designer or project specifications.

Product preparation

Drykos® Dryfibers 540 are supplied ready to use and do not require any preliminary preparation.

Application

In the case of precasting or use in batching plants equipped with a pre-mixer, Drykos® Dryfibers 540 can be added directly into the mixing chamber or, alternatively, onto the aggregate conveyor belt.
The addition of fibers must take place exclusively after the aggregates have been loaded into the mixer to promote correct dispersion within the conglomerate.
The product can also be introduced directly into the drum of the truck mixer once it has been loaded with all other concrete components. In this case, after adding the fibers, continue mixing by keeping the drum rotating at mixing speed for at least 1 minute for every m³ of concrete transported, verifying the complete and uniform distribution of the macro-fibers.

Cleaning of tools

Clean tools with water immediately after use.
