Hydro-expansive plug for sealing formwork spacers
Drykos® Plugseal P is a preformed hydro-expansive device designed for the hermetic sealing of tubular formwork spacers in concrete structures. The product consists of a rigid high-strength polyamide core, which ensures mechanical fixing inside the spacer, and a sealing element made of hydro-expansive thermoplastic rubber, which increases in volume upon contact with water, generating expansion pressure against the tube walls. This expansion mechanism creates an active barrier against water penetration and compensates for any irregularities or micro-voids present inside the spacer.
Drykos® Plugseal P ensures reliable sealing of PVC, fiber cement, or steel formwork spacers, contributing to the construction of waterproof and durable concrete structures.

Application
Drykos® Plugseal P must be installed after formwork removal, when the spacers are already embedded in the concrete structure. Installation is performed by manually inserting the plug into the spacer and then driving it into position with a hammer blow until fully inserted. The system is designed for extremely rapid installation (approximately 1 second) and requires no finishing operations or subsequent treatments. For optimal waterproofing performance, installation from the side of the structure subject to hydrostatic water pressure is recommended.
Other indications
- The product must be installed exclusively on spacers already embedded in the concrete structure.
- The expansion of the hydro-expansive material is designed to occur under confined conditions inside the spacer.
- Avoid use in the presence of solvents or hydrocarbons that could compromise the performance of the hydro-expansive material.
- It is recommended to verify the correct spacer diameter before plug installation.

The product is classified as an article and, in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 (REACH), does not require a Safety Data Sheet. During handling and use operations, the use of appropriate personal protective equipment, such as gloves and protective eyewear, and compliance with safety procedures established in the workplace are nonetheless recommended.
