Flexstrip
High-performance self-adhesive butyl rubber sealing strip for waterproofing non-structural joints

Drykos® Flexstrip 80-150 is a high-performance self-adhesive sealing tape consisting of a butyl rubber-based adhesive compound bonded to a polypropylene non-woven fleece, which enhances anchoring and compatibility with bonding and coating systems. The product is protected by an “easy peel” silicone-coated film, enabling simple, rapid, and precise application even under complex operating conditions.
Drykos® Flexstrip 80-150 has been designed for sealing joints between floors and walls on substrates such as brick, concrete blocks, plaster, or drywall, ensuring continuity of seal and long-term reliability. It can also be used for sealing and joining most materials commonly used in construction, both smooth and absorbent.
The surface fleece enables the tape to adhere effectively even near joints and discontinuities, facilitating integration with adhesives and leveling compounds. The product is compatible with the most common cementitious and non-cementitious adhesives, making it particularly suitable for applications under wood, marble, and ceramic coverings.
Thanks to its high initial and permanent adhesion, Drykos® Flexstrip 80-150 ensures reliable performance even at low temperatures and on materials such as concrete, plastic, glass, steel, polycarbonate, and wood.
Its conformability and ease of handling make it particularly suitable for applications in confined or difficult-to-access spaces where effective and durable sealing is required.
The product is available in two different widths, 80 mm and 150 mm, to be selected according to the size of the joint or surface to be treated.

Storage conditions
Store the product in its original, intact, and unopened packaging in a dry, well-ventilated environment protected from direct sunlight, at a temperature between +5°C and +40°C. Prolonged exposure to temperatures above +50°C may make removal of the silicone-coated protective film more difficult during installation. The product is not affected by frost; any low temperatures do not compromise its functional characteristics, provided it is brought to application conditions before use.

Substrate preparation
Surfaces intended for installation of Drykos® Flexstrip 80-150 must be dry, clean, and free of dust, oils, greases, loose residues, or other impurities that could compromise tape adhesion.
At temperatures between 0°C and +5°C, it is necessary to verify the absence of condensation, frost, or ice on the substrate, as such conditions could significantly reduce the adhesive capacity of the product.
On particularly porous or dusty substrates, it is recommended to proceed with adequate surface stabilization or consolidation to ensure proper tape adhesion over time.
Installation of Drykos® Flexstrip 80-150 does not require the use of specific tools; however, the use of a roller or pressure pad is recommended to optimize contact between the tape and the substrate.
Application
Cut Drykos® Flexstrip 80-150 to the required length or prepare the element in the required shape. Remove the silicone-coated protective film covering the adhesive surface and position the tape or square in the designated location. Apply by exerting uniform and continuous pressure to ensure proper contact with the substrate and avoid the formation of air bubbles.
When joining two elements, provide a minimum overlap of at least 5 cm, ensuring that the overlapping surfaces are adequately pressed to ensure sealing continuity.
To optimize adhesion, it is recommended to press the tape using a roller or cloth pad, applying constant pressure along the entire applied surface.
After installation, protect Drykos® Flexstrip 80-150 from direct UV exposure by covering or final coating within a few months to preserve the material’s performance over time.
Cleaning of tools
Tools are cleaned with water immediately after use.
