Jointsteel X
Galvanized steel cross profile for the watertight sealing of controlled crack and contraction joints in vertical pours

Drykos® Jointsteel X is a technical element for creating and sealing predetermined crack joints, consisting of a coated jointing sheet combined with crack inducers designed to guide the opening of cracks in concrete in a controlled manner.
The system is manufactured according to the configuration of Drykos® Jointsteel X profiles, composed of a coated jointing panel, perforated containment guides fixed on both sides, and additional containment brackets, which ensure correct positioning and optimal stability during the installation and pouring phases.
Joints between profiles are made by overlapping the adhesive coating and subsequently fixing them with the specific Drykos® Connection kit, ensuring the continuity of the joint’s watertight seal.
The profile is coated with a special high-adhesion flexible layer that bonds effectively to the concrete, ensuring a reliable and durable seal of the predetermined crack joint. A peelable protective film, applied over the entire surface of the coating, protects the system from contamination and must be removed before the concrete pour.
Drykos® Jointsteeel X is also suitable for applications in the presence of pressurized water, guaranteeing the hydraulic seal of the joint up to a maximum persistent hydrostatic pressure of 2 bar, equivalent to approximately 20 m of water column.

Application info
Application
The cast-in-place concrete element is prepared with the Drykos® Jointsteel BW joint sheet already installed and functioning as a waterproofing element for the slab/wall joint.
The Drykos® Jointsteel X profile is positioned vertically and overlapped with the joint sheet with a minimum overlap of 5 cm, ensuring the continuity of the system’s watertight seal.
The Drykos® Jointsteel X profile is fixed to the reinforcement using the perforated and hinged containment brackets, appropriately bent and tied to the metal reinforcement, ensuring the correct positioning and stability of the profile during the pour. The overlap area between the Drykos® Jointsteel X profile and the slab/wall joint sheet is further secured using two Drykos® Fixing Clips to ensure the continuity of the waterproofing system. Once the installation of the Drykos® Jointsteel X profile is complete, it is possible to proceed with the pouring of the subsequent cast-in-place concrete wall element.
