Dryinject packer

Rubber and steel flat-head injection packer for pressure application of resins

Drykos® Dryinject Packer are rubber and steel injectors designed for installation at cracks, fissures, joints, voids, cavities, and discontinuities to be waterproofed by injection of acrylic, epoxy, polyurethane resins, and cementitious grouts. They are particularly suitable for use with Drykos® Dryinject 800 and Drykos® Dryinject 2000, hydro-reactive polyurethane resins formulated for rapid and immediate water infiltration stoppage, even under hydraulic pressure.
Drykos® Dryinject Packer feature a flat head with non-return valve, allowing controlled and safe product injection while preventing unwanted backflow. For proper installation and effective injection operations, the injectors must be used in combination with the connection element Drykos® Dryinject Packer Connector.

Main features
  • Allow precise and controlled injection of hydro-expansive polyurethane resins
  • Rubber and steel structure ensuring high mechanical strength and reliability during injection
  • Flat head with non-return valve to prevent resin backflow and ensure operator safety
  • Excellent seal in the hole, even under high injection pressures
  • Simple and rapid installation by mechanical tightening
  • Suitable for applications on both dry structures and under water pressure
Fields of application
  • Injection of resins and cementitious grouts in concrete and masonry structures
  • Waterproofing of cracks, fissures, and construction joints
  • Sealing of voids, cavities, and internal spaces
  • Stoppage of active water infiltrations, even at high flow rates or pressure
  • Waterproofing interventions in foundations, slabs, retaining walls, and underground structures
  • Applications in civil, industrial, and infrastructure sectors

Application

Installation of Drykos® Dryinject Packer must be performed after careful evaluation of the crack, joint, or cavity to be treated, in order to ensure proper and uniform distribution of the injected resin.
Drill holes in the substrate (concrete or masonry) with a suitable drill, using a bit diameter compatible with the selected packer. Holes should preferably be drilled at approximately 45° to the surface, in order to properly intercept the discontinuity to be sealed. Hole depth must be appropriate to the element thickness and, indicatively, equal to approximately half the substrate thickness.
Hole layout must follow the crack or joint, with spacing varying according to the discontinuity width and substrate conditions, generally between 15 and 90 cm.
Insert the Drykos® Dryinject Packer into the hole to approximately 2/3 of its length, verifying that the rubber portion is properly seated within the substrate. Then proceed with mechanical tightening of the packer using a suitable wrench, rotating the head clockwise until the rubber seal expands and achieves stable and secure retention in the hole.
Before starting injection, ensure that all packers are properly secured and that the non-return valve functions correctly, preventing resin backflow during pumping operations. Once installation is complete, the Drykos® Dryinject Packer are ready to be connected to the injection equipment via the Drykos® Dryinject Packer Connector and used in combination with the hydro-expansive polyurethane resins Drykos® Dryinject 800 or Drykos® Dryinject 2000, according to the specified application procedures.
Upon completion of injection and after complete resin reaction, the packers may be removed or left in place, depending on intervention requirements; residual holes may subsequently be sealed with a suitable waterproof mortar from the Drykos® Repair system.

Cleaning of tools

Upon completion of operations, thoroughly clean all equipment and tools that came into contact with the resin using Drykos® Pump Cleaner, preferably within 30 minutes, to prevent product hardening inside the circuits.
Do not use solvents or unsuitable products, as they may prove ineffective or create hazardous situations.

Other indications
  • Verify substrate stability and consistency before drilling. Degraded or inconsistent substrates may compromise proper packer retention
  • Use drill bits with diameter appropriate to the packer model employed; oversized holes may reduce anchoring effectiveness
  • Ensure the packer is properly tightened before starting injection. Inadequate securing may cause sudden discharge under pressure
  • High pressures may be reached during injection operations; use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintain a safe distance from operating injectors
  • Verify proper non-return valve function before use, to prevent resin backflow
  • Do not use damaged or deformed packers
